Applying for Services

As a USDA food pantry we use The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) Certification of Eligibility. (See Income Guide for 2021- 2022). Though we do not ask for proof of income, we do encourage honesty in all things since we all want to meet God in peace. When someone applies for services offered by New Life Pantry, we ask them to sign the following statement. "I understand that New Life Pantry exists to aid families who really need help. By asking help from the pantry, I agree that my household genuinely needs assistance with the requested items."

Food Program

The food program was the only service provided when we opened in 2019. Due to continuing COVID concerns, we currently offer Drive Thru service, and a Choice Pantry. Choice Pantry has limited available and it is by appointment only. An application is required for the food program. English and Spanish sample applications are below.

Baby Diapers

The Baby Diaper program began soon after we opened in 2019. Bundles of Hope Diaper Bank is our agency partner providing the diapers and wipes. Sometimes other items may be included such as food/formula, magazine, or feminine products. Diapers can only be obtained 1 time per month per household. An application is required for the Baby Diaper program. The child's birthdate and diaper size are also required.

Future Programs

We are currently assessing community needs and seeking funding to develop programs designed to enrich the lives of families in Jefferson County, Alabama. Additionally, we desire to lease/rent/buy a building in the North Birmingham area (35207) in which to house the various services.

What our customers are saying

This is the most organized and friendly food program I have been to during the pandemic. You all have good stuff that has been a real blessing to my family. I am almost in tears as I think of how blessed I have been to get diapers for my newborn.
